Choose the fire before finalising the structure

Fire dimensions, glazed sides, required air gaps and access for servicing affect the whole wall. A single-sided fire can sit within a clean face; a fire with visible sides needs the surrounding structure to be designed accordingly. Share the make and exact model if you already own an appliance.

Keep the television comfortable to watch

A wide fire does not mean the television should sit high on the wall. Begin with seated eye level and viewing distance, then work through the required separation using the selected appliance’s instructions. We do not publish a universal clearance that could be wrong for your fire or TV.

Decide what sits beside the centrepiece

Open niches, ribbed backs, low cupboards and continuous shelves can change the balance of the wall. Consider whether you prefer symmetry or a quieter composition with more clear wall space.

Agree the installation scope

Confirm who supplies the fire, any new power arrangements, appliance installation, the structural finish and decoration in the written quotation. Manufacturer requirements and any electrical certification relevant to the agreed work need to be addressed before installation.

Useful questions

Can a media wall be designed around my existing television?

Yes. Include your television’s model number and screen size with your enquiry. The recess, bracket position, ventilation and access to connections need to suit the actual set, as well as the way you sit in the room.

Do I have to include an electric fire?

No. A TV feature wall can combine concealed cables, panelling, shelving and cupboards without a fire. This can leave more room for storage or keep the television at a comfortable viewing height.

What should I send for a quotation?

Use the enquiry form to send photographs of the whole wall and surrounding room, your address, your preferred design and any approximate measurements you already have. Tell us which TV, fire, lighting and storage options you want included. Site measurements are confirmed before a design is built.
